One World - One Heart

I had so much fun browsing the One World - One Heart participants last night that even though it's really late in the game, I'm jumping in with a giveaway (or two) of my own. To find out more about the project and find the list of participants, simply click on the photo above (if I set it up correctly) or the link name. Basically it's a way to find and meet new bloggers. It's always fun to find new blogging friends, or in some cases, rediscover old blogging friends I haven't had a chance to visit in a long while.

But wait! That's not all! (I love saying that. And no, I'm not going to sell you another set of Ginzu knives) If you leave a comment for this post, you'll win something. That's how the project works. You have to have an active blog of your own and you must leave a comment here with your e-mail or link to your own blog so I can contact you if you win. On February 14 bloggers all over the world, including me, will pick some names out of a hat and packages will be flying back and forth across the globe. That's it.

Everyone has such creative and interesting prizes selected. I thought about what would best represent this blog, taking into consideration that I'm entering rather late in the game and don't have time to whip up anything too fancy. Then I had a brilliant idea. I decided to give away a cat. Here are half my cats (can you count all six?) - take your pick.

No, no, no. Just kidding. Justing kidding. I wouldn't part with any of my kitties - no matter how evil or ornery or annoying or stepped upon they are on a daily basis. Besides, they're all too heavy. It would cost a fortune to ship any of them. So the giveway will be

Books. Not these particular books, although aren't they lovely? These were antiques for sale in a shop in Ashland, Oregon. I don't have a photo to show you - still haven't gotten around to finding photo space - but it will be a stack of new and gently used paperbacks. I've got a whole stack of popular current bestsellers, cozy mysteries, and urban fantasy novels that I've somehow managed to collect in duplicate copies. I usually trade back in books I don't want to keep, for credit at our local used bookstore, but these are all titles I liked enough to want to pass on to friends - or you! When I have a winner, I'll get in touch and try to get a sense of which genres would make the best prize and box up the authors and titles I think you'll like best.
